A Blooming Identity for Aspire CPA

We thoroughly enjoyed getting to work on the brand identity for Aspire CPA LLC, a new firm focused on small businesses in Sun Prairie, WI. With the client’s vision for supporting small businesses, we saw a great opportunity to develop an identity that stands out from the crowd. That, and a chance to demonstrate accounting brands don’t have to be boring.

The inspiration for the logo icon is the bloom of a papyrus plant. Papyrus both pays homage to the long history of the accounting profession and reflects the idea of growth and vitality.

The icon itself serves a dual purpose. At first glance, it takes the form of a modern ledger via a crosshatch of rows and columns. Look closely and tilt the icon about 45 degrees to the right, and it takes the “paintbrush” form common to papyrus plants.

The A in the wordmark lacks a horizontal line. This gives it the appearance of an upward arrow that further symbolizes aspiration and growth.

The logo colors are also very purposeful. The vibrant green is a natural fit with the papyrus theme and symbolizes the growth to which small businesses aspire. The warmer shade of blue reflects the inviting nature of Aspire CPA’s desired relationship with clients.

The overall brand identity includes significant flexibility for various applications via inverted colors and black and white options.
