CREATIVITY + CRAFTMANSHIP – Dave Boettcher (a.k.a Grandpa Frog) produces unique and sturdy tables, shelving units, signs, and other one-of-a-kind wood creations.

NAME – Dave has long had the nickname “Frog”.  It suits him, just like being a grandfather.  Which is when he became “Grandpa Frog” and has since morphed into “G. Frog” (it’s how the kids roll today).  We know it’s spelled “designs”, but fun with words is just part of the package with G. Frog.

COLORS – The color set is based on the orange-eyed tree frog and its vivid colors that reflect G. Frog’s creativity.  And of course we worked in a bit of natural wood color.  

LOGO ELEMENTS – It’s easy to notice the frog playing the role of the “O” which also has G. Frog’s trademark glasses.  He could leave home without them, but then he wouldn’t be able to tell the frog is an “O”.  The frog also has a tuft of hair that’s a telltale sign that he’s hard at work on a special project.

Other logo features reflect the craftsmanship of G. Frog’s work.  The main lettering contains a wood grain, the stylized period is created via an angle cut in the “G”, and the letters in “DZINES” are separated by screwheads.
